Lauretta Tilton

Milton, NH - Lauretta Jean Tilton, 77, passed away Monday June 20, 2016 at her home following a period of failing health.   Born August 28, 1938 in Wesleyville, Newfoundland, Canada she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Minnie (Dyke) Bishop.   Growing up on Islands off the coast of Newfoundland, the daughter of a Seaman, she loved the sea and was proud of her Newfoundland heritage.   Jean was a loving mother and military wife, travelling throughout the US and Foreign Territories. Her travels included living in Florida, California, Washington, Japan, Maine and Cuba. She worked as an ITT head operator in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and later was the manager of Hebert Candies in Kittery, ME.   Jean enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, and playing bingo. Grammy's home was always warm and welcome to all of her grandchildren near and far. She was her daughters, sons and grandchildren's best friend.
