Leo Huppe
Rochester - Leo A. Huppe, passed away peacefully at home on October 20, 2021.
Leo was born in Laconia on February 25, 1925, the son of the late Gideon and Amelia (Gagne) Huppe.
He spent his early years in Laconia NH and Lowell, MA and has lived most of his life in Rochester. A veteran of World War II, Leo was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1946 having served in the Asiatic Pacific. He was awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Theatre Medal, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon and the Combat Infantry Badge. He was self-employed working as a carpenter and general contractor before retiring in 1987. He enjoyed a long and happy retirement. In his early years he enjoyed his large vegetable garden which also included strawberries and blueberries. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed the outdoors.
