Rochester, NH- Lillian Keene, 92, of 66 Congress Street died Friday Feb. 18, 2011 at home following a period of failing health. Born July 16, 1918 in Waterboro, ME she was the daughter of the late Herbert A and Ethel (Heath) Gerry. She was a 50 plus year member of the Veterans of Foreign War. She served as district auxillary president and Past State President. Mrs. Keene was the oldest member of the Womens Auxillary of the VFW and was a very active member. She loved to sew, knit, read and loved to be with her family. She worked for Smiths Fabric Shop for 14 years. The widow of Nelson Keene who died in 1970 she is survived by a daughter Sandra Horne and husband George of Farmington, NH; son, Robert Keene of Abita Spring, LA., 6 grandchildren, Rodney Woodill and wife Sara of Rochester, Dawna Lambert and husband Mike, Sharyn Newton and husband William of Rochester, Roland Woodill of West Virginia, Jeffrey Keene of FL. and Christopher Baudet of LA.; 17 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held Sunday Feb. 20, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main Street, Rochester NH. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Wentworth Homecare & Hospice, 113 New Rochester Road Suite 4, Dover, NH 03820
