Obituary

Linda Marie (Whalen) Leccacorvi, 77, passed away unexpectedly on August 19, 2026 at Frisbie Hospital after a brief illness. Linda was born on October 24, 1948 in Natick MA to James Whalen and Marian (Desjardins) Whalen. She was the oldest of their three daughters. Linda graduated from Natick High School in the spring of 1966, and upon graduating she attended Framingham State College in the fall of 1966 to study elementary education, until the spring of 1969.

Linda married Nino D. Leccacorvi on January 8, 1972 at St. Patrick Church in Natick, MA. Directly after they married, Nino and Linda moved to New Hampshire, when Nino joined the NH State Police. Nino and Linda moved to Rochester in 1974, where they raised their two children. For the last 51 years they have called Rochester home.

Linda was very active in the Rochester School System for many years; first as a substitute teacher in the elementary schools, and then as an Educational Assistant at Rochester Middle School in the Special Education Department. Many may remember working with “Mrs. L.”

Linda was an avid gardener, enjoyed reading, and for many years, travel. Nino was a member of Nlets (formally the National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System), and Linda would accompany him on various trips, where they shared many adventures together. They also loved to travel to the Caribbean, and visited many islands. Linda enjoyed cooking, and was especially known for her lasagna with homemade meat sauce, her roasted pork loin, and her Black Forest cakes. Linda’s greatest joy was becoming ‘Grammy” in the summer of 2006. The time she spent with her grandson Jackson brought her both profound happiness and immense pride.

Linda is predeceased by both of her parents. She is survived by her husband Nino of Rochester, her daughter Lisa Leccacorvi (Jeffrey) Emrich of East Rochester, her son Matthew D. Leccacorvi of Barrington, and her beloved grandson Jackson Emrich of East Rochester.

Visiting hours will be held for Linda on Monday, August 24th from 5:00 – 8:00pm at the Edgerly Funeral Home in Rochester. Linda will be buried at St. Patrick Cemetery in Natick, MA. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude and appreciation to the ICU nursing staff at Frisbie Hospital. The care, compassion, and support they showed to Linda during her final weeks will be remembered always.
