Linda Slate

ROCHESTER ; Linda Slate, 61, of 45C Hanson St., died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, at her home after a sudden illness.She was born Nov. 6, 1947, in Rochester, the daughter of Evelyn (Currier) Coburn and the late Ernest A. Coburn. She was a lifelong resident of Rochester and a longtime member of the Rochester Grange. She was an avid CBer known as "Bird Lady." Her hobbies included knitting and making crafts.Members of her family include her mother, Evelyn Coburn, a resident of Riverside Rest Home in Dover; brother, John Matress, Sanbornville; sisters, Elaine Tuttle, Madbury, Dorothy LeBlanc, Vernon, Conn.; foster brother, Robert Lemire, Rochester; foster sister, Nancy Conway, Florida; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Linda was predeceased by her father and sister, Dorothea Coburn.At her request, there will be no services. Burial will be in Cold Spring Cemetery, East Rochester in the spring.Arrangements are under the care of the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., Rochester.Visit...
