ROCHESTER Luella Baker Phillips, 84, of 14 Phillips Lane passed away Thursday Sept. 20, 2012 after a brief stay at Frisbie Memorial Hospital and the Rochester Manor. She was born March 1, 1928 in Indianapolis, Ind. the daughter of the late Carl and Veola (Cheek) Baker. She was a graduate of Aurora High School Class of 1946. She kept in touch with her classmates by mail and especially going back to Aurora for all of her class reunions. On April 17, 1949 she married Dr. Fletcher Phillips in Indianapolis, where Fletcher attended Lincoln Chiropractic College. They moved to Rochester, in 1950. She was an active member of the True Memorial Baptist Church for over 60 years. She took care of children in the nursery and was a Pioneer Girls Leader. Mrs. Phillips also worked with the Fresh Air Fund of New York City for many years escorting the children to NH and Massachusetts for summer vacations. She loved her time in New York City.
