Lynn V. McDonald, 2nd Lieutenant, US Army Air Force, passed away on September 15, 2019 in Rochester, NH, at the age of 94 years. He was the son of Clark H. and Beulah (Forman) McDonald.
Lynn was born on March 5, 1925. He grew up on a small farm in West Davenport, NY where he attended a one-room schoolhouse. After joining the Army Air Force during WWII, he became an officer, learning to fly biplanes and bombers, finally becoming a glider pilot. His training included parachuting, machine gun marksmanship, weapons, weather patterns, and geography. The day of his last glider training landing was the last day of the War. From there, Lynn attended an intense 2-year training program at Cal Aero Tech where he earned his degree and went on to become an Aeronautical Engineer at Grumman Aerospace Corporation in Bethpage, NY.
