Lynne Theresa Littlefield

June 28, 1960 — September 28, 2023

On June 28th 1960, Shirley (Joyce) and Philip Matthews welcomed Lynne Theresa Matthews into the world. On Thursday, September 28th God called his angel back home. This beautiful baby grew into an amazing woman who left an imprint of love and compassion on everyone she met. Lynne met and married the love of her life, Bruce Littlefield. They were to celebrate 38 years of marriage on September 28, 2023. After many years working many different jobs, Lynne's dream of having her own restaurant came to life. Together Lynne and Bruce owned and operated Olde Tymes Restaurant in Ossipee NH. They raised two handsome and caring sons who were their greatest love of all. They enjoyed classic automobile's her favorite being her 68 Corvette. Lovingly known to family and friends as Lynnie Bugs. Lynne was always thinking of others and loved her extended family as if they were her own. Siblings, nieces, nephews and friends were always adored and welcomed to her home. Her heart had room for everyone, and her love knew no bounds. Lynne had a green thumb and was an incredible gardener, and cook. She loved cooking, baking and canning. Family and friends would never leave her home hungry. She treasured family gatherings and especially enjoyed relaxing at the lake. Lynne loved spending her time with family making new memories and recently we were all blessed to do just that with her. She left our earthly world surrounded by family, leaving an aching hole in our hearts. Yet as we grieve, we know that she is always with us. That hole in our hearts can be filled with her memories. She is in the lessons she taught us, be it good manners or empathy. She is in the love that she showered us in, She is in the flowers we admire and in the birds that we catch ourselves watching. Lynne is survived by her husband Bruce and their two son's Danny and Ryan Littlefield of Alton NH. Her two boys were her Pride and Joy.  family was her world, and her children were the brightest light of her life. She was so proud of her boys. She always bragged about them, cherished them and they did the same for her. Her family was built on a foundation of love, respect and admiration. Her reflection and morals live on in them. She was an amazing and devoted mother. She is also survived by her best friends and sisters Lori Mick and her husband, David, of South Berwick, ME, Linda Bowser and her husband, Eric of Newington NH and her sister-in-law Sue Littlefield of Greenland NH. Many nieces and nephews, and cousins, and her beautiful yellow lab Jesse. She was predeceased by her brothers Mark Matthews, Blaine Matthews, and Dana Matthews, her sister Lisa (Matthews)Whalen, and her parents Philip & Shirley Matthews. May we find comfort in knowing that they were there to welcome her home. On Saturday, October 21, 2023, a service will be held in her honor at 12pm at the Newington Congregational Church. Immediately following will be a celebration of life at the Old Town and Picnic Grounds. Family and friends are welcome to join us for food and beverages. Bring your memories and share with each other the love, stories and laughter that Lynnie Bug has handed down to you and yours.
