Mario P. Leone

Barrington - Mario P. Leone, 92, passed away Friday February 13, 2015 at the Rochester Manor following a period of failing health. Born May 20, 1922 in Worcester, MA he was the son of the late Joseph and Raffaela (Lopriore) Leone. Mario grew up in Swampscott, Massachusetts. He served in the US Navy during WWII and that experience led to a lifelong love of boating and the ocean. He spent his entire career working at General Electric in Lynn, Massachusetts. He tested jet engines and was very proud of his work. He was a member of the Sons of Italy, the American Legion Post 7, and the VFW. Mario loved taking pictures, spending winters with his wife Catherine in Florida, and attending reunions with his fellow veterans that served on the US Navy Destroyer 629.
