EAST ROCHESTER - Marjorie L. Jones, 56, of 14 Abbott St., died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, after a long courageous battle with cancer.She was an electrician at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and worked at Davidson Rubber (Textron) in Farmington for 15 years. From 1975 to 1986 while living in Victoria, Texas, she became the town's first female firefighter and rescue diver. She loved the outdoor and canoeing down the Saco River, camping with family and friends, just living life to the fullest. She was involved in many local fundraisers for cancer and the NSPCA. For the past 15 years, she gave to the Christian Children's Fund and helped raise a girl named "Bethlehem" to adulthood. She also gave to the United Way.
