Martha Ann Hirsch

Rochester- Martha Ann Hirsch, 75, died Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. Born August 6, 1935 in Worcester, MA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Viola (Walden) Wilkinson. Martha grew up and attended schools in Quincy, MA. She was a homemaker and raised her family in Weymouth, MA. There was nothing that meant more to her than her children and grandchildren. After her children were grown, Martha worked for the Salvation Army in Rochester for 15 years. Martha also had a special place in her heart for all animals, was an avid Red Sox fan, and since childhood, enjoyed spending time at the Oak Birch Inn in Alton Bay. She leaves her husband of 35 years Benjamin A. Hirsch of Rochester. Her children Karen Hirsch and husband Ed of Rochester, Barb Townsend and husband Erle of Maine, Cheryl Caplan and husband Rob of Connecticut, and Bob Stanley and wife Kristin of Massachusetts.
