Rochester NH-Mary E. Higgins,97, of 40 Whitehall Road, Rochester passed away Sunday July 30th, 2017. Born April 12th, 1920 at Danvers, MA and was the daughter of the late Timothy J. Connors and Mary (Little) Connors. Mary graduated from Holton High School in Danvers, MA and Salem State College in Salem, MA with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. She taught English for ten years at Rockland, MA and ten years in Strafford, NH. Mary was the wife of the late Rev. Howard B. Higgins who was the Pastor of churches in Lebanon CT, Wickford RI, Hyde Park MA, Rockland MA, Strafford NH and New Hampton NH. She was a member of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church in Rochester NH, the Freewill Society of the Wakefield, Ossipee and Effingham Church in Ossipee, NH and the Retired Teachers of New Hampshire.Mary is survived by her son, Robert Higgins of Meridian, MS, two grandchildren: Stephen Higgins and his wife Stephanie of Ridgeland SC, Karen Biddles and her husband Alex of Meridian MS and five great grandchildren: Sara Timlin and her husband Jacob of White Oak PA, Seth Higgins of Rochester NH, Christa Bishop and her husband Cole of Lucedale MS, along with Emma and Toby Biddles of Meridian, MS. She was predeceased by her son David Higgins of Rochester, her daughter Nancy Lake of Strafford, her daughter in law Darla Higgins of Meridian MS, a brother William Connors of Natick MA, and four sisters: Helen Stockwell of Reading MA, Grace Warman of Danvers MA, Natalie Connors of Wolfeboro NH and Ruth Connors of Tilton NH. Funeral services for will be held August 3rd at 11:00 AM with visitation to be held 1-hour prior in the chapel of the R. M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main Street in Rochester NH. Rev. Dan Huggard will serve as officiant. Committal will be at the Walnut Grove Cemetery, Danvers, MA following the services
