Mary E. Hurley

February 2, 1937 — March 28, 2025

Mary E. (Berry) Hurley, 88, passed away peacefully in the arms of Jesus on Friday, March 28, 2025, at The Warner Community Hospice of Fernandina Beach, FL. Her family surrounded her with love, having the opportunity to say their goodbyes, and cherishing their final moments with her.

Born in Dover, NH, on February 2, 1937, Mary was the daughter of John K. and Mary E. (Brennan) Berry. She graduated from Mount Trinity Catholic High School in Massachusetts and later attended the Katharine Gibbs School for Women, where she completed their prestigious executive secretarial program. Mary had a love of reading, visiting lighthouses, and spending time with friends. She spent the first 33 years of her life in New England before settling in Westerville, Ohio, where she devoted herself to raising her two children and working for the American Motorcyclist Association for over 30 years. She took great pride in her career and formed lifelong friendships along the way. In her final years, she lived in Florida, surrounded by her devoted family.

Mary is proceeded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Robert E. and John F. Berry. She is survived by her loving children, Christine Hurley (Jesse) Stanley and Douglas J. Hurley (Janie); eight cherished grandchildren; and one precious great-granddaughter, all of whom affectionately call her "Gram."

This summer, Mary will return to her beloved New Hampshire, where a family service will be held. She will be laid to rest among her family at St. Mary’s Church Cemetery in Rochester, NH.
