Mary Lee Kanehl

Long time Manchester, Connecticut resident Mary Lee Kanehl, 89, passed away March 21, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones. She was the wife of the late George A Kanehl Sr., CPA, and well known in the community.  Together they developed an extensive accounting firm and managed various commercial properties. She was born in Alma, Georgia, and grew up in Fort Myers, Florida.  As a teenager, during the summer, she worked in South Windsor, Connecticut, picking tobacco.  This is where she met the love of her life, George.  After being married in 1951, they made Manchester, Connecticut their home for the next 64 adventurous years. She is survived by their four children, Karen Beranger of New Hampshire, George Kanehl Jr. of Hawaii, Robert Kanehl, and his wife Ellen Kanehl of Connecticut, and Dr Martha Moy, and her husband Dr Kenneth Moy of Missouri.  Mary Lee also leaves thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
