Mary Chapin Newhall, 84 of Rochester New Hampshire passed peacefully surrounded by her family, on January 22, 2022.
Mary was born September 23, 1937, to Ralph and Blanche (Brooks) Thompson in Newton, Massachusetts. Mary spent her early years in Bow Lake, NH. She enjoyed many summers at Camp Foss. Mary and her family moved to Rochester so she could attend Spaulding High School and at this time, she joined Troup 2 and became a lifelong Girl Scout. During Mary's senior year of high school her Girl Scout troop took a trip to Washington DC where they had tea in the Rose Garden with the First Lady. Mrs. Eisenhower remarked that the girls had more badges than her husband the President had medals.
Following Mary's graduation from Spaulding High School in 1955, she worked at Palmer Plumbing. She met John Newhall, when he returned from the service and they were married on October 10th, 1959. Mary centered her life around her family and being the best wife, mother, and friend to all.
