Obituary

Rochester – Mary Robidas (also known to many as Mary Gala), 85, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the Rochester Manor following a period of failing health.

Born May 22, 1941, in Portland, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Winifred Call.

Mary worked in exports for Cabletron Systems for many years. Mary loved to sing and dance, and she never needed a reason to do either. Whether she was singing along to her favorite songs, dancing around the room, or making everyone laugh with her quick wit, she embraced every moment with joy. She had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her beloved cat, Jack. Above all else, however, Mary loved her family. They were the center of her world, and she never missed an opportunity to remind them how much they meant to her.

She was a true spitfire – feisty, funny, fiercely independent, and full of life. She kept everyone on their toes, never hesitated to speak her mind, and had a heart as big as her personality. Her laughter was contagious, her stories unforgettable, and the memories she created with those around her will be cherished forever.

She leaves behind a legacy of laughter, strength, resilience, and unconditional love. Mary was truly one of a kind. Her vibrant spirit will live on in every story shared, every song sung, and every smile she inspired.

Members of her family include her children Corrinne McDonald of Rochester, NH; James Gala and fiancée Donna Hummel of NY; Lloyd Gala and wife Joni of NY; Theresa Hervey of Rochester, NH; and Philip Gala of NC; her grandchildren Megan, Carly, Ryan, Miles, and Erik; her two sisters, Jean Young and Debra Call, both of VT; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 8, 2026, at 11AM at the R.M. Edgerly Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St. Rochester, NH.
