Mary K. Strathdee

Mary K. Strathdee passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 20th, 2022 in North Port, FL with her husband and partner of 43 years, Jack Jadwin, by her side. She was 82 years old.Mary was born on May 11th, 1940 in Danvers MA to parents H. Lloyd Keefe and Mary Butler Keefe. Mary was a graduate of Quincy High. Mary's career was robust and variable as she simultaneously raised six children. Mary worked as a bartender, a Penobscot County Clerk and even an assistant to the Sheriff at the Penobscot County Sheriff's Department. She was also an HR manager for Webber Energy Fuels prior to becoming a real estate agent. In her retirement, she helped run the main office for her son, Grant, in his pool business in New Hampshire while she also filled in as office manager for local businesses needing coverage.Mary was an avid reader and enjoyed a variety of hobbies including knitting, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles and playing mahjong with her friends. She also passed on a love of video games to many of her grandchildren.A fun fact about Mary is that she was a contestant on The Price is Right, hosted by Bill Cullen, in 1965. She won many prizes including a sports car.In addition to her husband, Mary is survived by her sister, Sally Wainwright of Squantum MA, her children, Kim Strathdee of Lincoln NH, Tami and her husband David Fagerland of Islip Terrace NY, Douglas Strathdee of Goldendale WA, Tracy and her husband Bill Willard of Bangor ME and Grant Strathdee and his partner Diane Johnson of New Durham NH along with her two stepchildren, Jennifer Oropallo and her husband Joseph of Colonie NY and Jill Gernand and her husband Shane of Glenville NY, 11 Grandchildren, 9 step Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. Her greatest gift was the birth of Raven Elizabeth, her 3rd great grandchild who was born this year on her 82nd birthday. Mary was predeceased by her parents, her daughter Kelly and her grandson Sheldon.In Lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation in Mary's honor to your favorite non-profit. Mary will join her Mother, Father and Daughter at the Woodbine cemetery in Ellsworth ME. A celebration of life will be held at Dysart's Broadway, 1110 Broadway Bangor ME from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday July 16th, 2022, lunch will be provided
