Maureen Minion

d. October 15, 2024

Heaven has gained another angel with the passing of Maureen Ann Minion (Arsenault), our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, on October 15, 2023. She was born on May 1, 1937, in Haverhill, Massachusetts, daughter to Joseph Herbert Arsenault and Katherine Fitzgerald, Maureen lived a life marked by devotion, kindness, and unwavering love for her family, community, and faith.
Maureen graduated from St. James Catholic School, with the Class of 1955. Her education set the foundation for her long career as a bookkeeper in various industries. She worked at Haverhill Lawrence Trucking, with the City of Haverhill, Massachusetts and with the Teamsters Union.
On May 19, 1962, Maureen married the love of her life, Ronald Patrick Minion. Together, they built a loving home and shared 52 wonderful years of marriage filled with laughter, love, and countless memories until Ronald's passing in 2014.
Maureen's deep faith was a cornerstone of her life. A devout Catholic, she was an active member of the Marions at St. Mary's Parish in Rochester, New Hampshire. Her faith was not only practiced in church but also in her everyday actions, which were characterized by compassion, generosity, and a warm, welcoming spirit.
Those who knew Maureen remember her as a woman who cherished family above all else. She was caring and down-to-earth, always ready to lend an ear or a helping hand. Family gatherings were a source of joy for her. She also found joy in her time spent with friends and neighbors at the Tara Estate Clubhouse in Rochester, NH.
Maureen was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Patrick Minion; her sister, Sheila Libby, and her husband, Richard Libby; brother-in-law, Albert Rajotte; brothers-in-law Conrad Stone and Donald Minion; and her sister-in-law, Margaret Emerson (Minion), her great grandchildren Caleb and Charlotte Strydom.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience, survived by her sister, Geraldine Rajotte; her sons, Michael Minion and his husband Timothy Carroll, and David Minion and partner Leanne Gomez; her adored grandchildren, Stephanie Strydom, and Michael Minion Jr. along with his wife Katie Minion; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Lucas and Cohen Strydom, and Adalyn Minion. Maureen is also dearly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
Maureen Minion will be forever missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we are reminded of the strength of her love and the warmth of her smile. Her life was a testament to kindness, and she leaves behind a tapestry of memories woven with the threads of love and family.
A service to celebrate Maureen's life will be held at St. Mary's Parish in Rochester, New Hampshire, where friends and family are invited to gather, remember, and honor a life well-lived. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association Maureen's memory,
May she rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love she shared with so many.
