Gonic - Maurice "Slim" Lamper, 78, passed away Friday January 14, 2011 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital following a period of failing health. Born April 3, 1932 in Wolfeboro, NH he was the son of the late Harland and Annie (Leighton) Lamper. Mr. Lamper served in the US Army during the Korean War. He later started his career as a mechanic and worked for Eastern Propane for over 35 years. Slim was a life member of the Masonic Lodge # 21, of Rochester, NH and was also a Shriner. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and woodworking. Members of his family include his wife of 55 years Arlene (DeWitt) Lamper of Gonic, NH; his children Susan Larson and husband Robert of Farmington, NH; Kathy Gagnon and husband David of Rochester, NH; Alan Lamper and wife Linda of Milton, NH; Karen Nason and husband Dave of Milton, NH; and Doreen Marsters and husband David of New Durham, NH; twelve grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one sister Elizabeth Brown of North Conway, NH; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit Tuesday January 18, 2011 from 6-8 PM at the R.M. Edgerly and Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St. Rochester, NH. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1 PM in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Rochester Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shriners at Bektash Recorder 2 Blackberry Way, Unit 211, Manchester, NH 03102.
