Rochester NH- Melvina Packard, 86, died Sunday Aug. 11, 2013 at her home. Born Feb. 2, 1927 in Mexico, ME, she was the daughter of the late William and Florence (Worcester) McLafferty. She has resided in Rochester since 1969, previously living in Antrim, NH. Mrs. Packard worked as cafeteria staff at the University of NH for many years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Southeastern NH Mineral Club. She enjoyed doing crafts including knitting and crocheting. She also loved cooking; especially desserts for her family, and her apple pies were the best around. The widow of Earl Packard, who died in 2012, she is survived by two sons, Alan and wife Patricia Mattina of Framingham, MA, Bruce and wife Sabrina (Sutherland) Packard of Orrington, ME; grandchildren, John and Jake Pomelow, Jessikah Pomelow Perocchi; great granddaughters, Sophia Perocchi and Aliyah Pomelow, great grandsons Amos Perocchi, and several cousins.
