Rochester, NH

Michael F. Macone, age 61, of Rochester, New Hampshire, died from lung cancer at Portsmouth Regional Hospital on December 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born October 28, 1964, Michael was the middle child growing up, with 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Michael is predeceased by his mother and stepfather Joan & Tom Buck of Rochester NH, his father and stepmother Joan & John Macone of Arlington MA, and his sister Lisa Hoyland (Rhaine) of Framingham MA. Michael is survived by his partner Gage Dunham, and their foster child Riley of Rochester NH; as well as his brothers and their wives, David and Ellen of Milford CT, Joseph and Sheri of Medford MA, Robert and Monique of Derry NH, as well as his sister Renee and her husband Marc Duchesneau of Rollinsford NH and Collette Ferry of Bradenton FL. He also has cousins and many, many nieces and nephews, with whom he loved spending time with. Mike could often be seen sitting on the floor playing with them, or riding in a red wagon down the street, or eating at the “kid’s table” at the holidays.

Michael served his country for 4 years in the Army in the 1980’s. He was always providing a service for people, whether he was working as an EMT, driving an Ambulance Chair Car or managing a restaurant, he was a people person. Mike could enter a room of strangers and by the time the night was over, many people had a new friend. Michael absolutely loved his German Shepard Dracco and spending time with friends and family.

Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Services for Michael will be announced after the holidays.
