Mildred Hamel

Portsmouth - Mildred Hamel, 76, passed away Saturday December 26, 2015 at the Clipper Harbor of Portsmouth following a period of failing health.   Born September 29, 1939 in Rochester NH, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Camella (Fabiano) Hamel.   Mildred had worked for many years for Colby Footwear and Irving Oil.   In her spare time she enjoyed crafts, painting, playing bingo, and going to Foxwoods.   Members of her family include her daughter Karen Sprague and husband Ronald of Rochester, NH; her brother James Hamel and wife Ruth of North Hampton, NH. Two nephews Michael Hamel and wife Sharon and Scott Hamel, and several cousins.   She was predeceased by her brother Albert Hamel.   Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.   Arrangements are under the direction of the R.M. Edgerly and Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St. Rochester, NH.   Donations may be made in memory of Mildred to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
