Mitchell James Merritt

Mitchell J. Merritt, 42, died from diabetes complications on Sunday June 29, 2025, at Portsmouth Hospital. Born May 29, 1983, in Rochester, NH, Mitch was the son of Wayne S. Merritt and Kimberly (Rainboth) Merritt. Mitch was working as an Electrician’s Assistant for Hunter S. Thompson in Portsmouth NH. In his free time, he enjoyed the outdoors whether it was the mountains or the beach. He loved hiking, white-water rafting, the ocean, concerts, waterfalls, skydiving, camping, fishing, going to concerts and working on cars with his friends. Mitch’s family were the most important people in his life and would do anything for us. He was an animal lover, especially his dog Oscar. Mitch was always there for any friends or family that needed a helping hand.
