Morris Loreto Erickson "Morrie" 74, of Alton, NH, passed away peacefully with family by his side after an unexpected brief illness at Portsmouth Regional Hospital on Saturday, December 3, 2022. Morris was born June 5, 1948, in Ironwood, Michigan to his late parents Edward and Julie Erickson (Kingsford, MI). Morris attended Kingsford High School (never missing a day through his four-year tenor) and graduated in 1966, a proud member of the first Senior Class at Kingsford High School after its construction in 1965. Morris wrestled in high school and worked at The Drug Store when it first opened stocking shelves during his senior year. He enrolled at Northern Michigan University and shortly after his first year was drafted into the United States Army in 1968, stationed in South Korea for 2 ½ years, and honorably discharged in 1970. Upon his return from his military duty, he got married and started the next chapter of his life. Morris started his extensive career at Grede Foundry pouring iron, then as a custodian for Kingsford High School, finally moving to New Hampshire in 2006, where he finished his career at TurboCam as a machinist before his well-deserved retirement in 2013. Morris played slow pitch soft ball for many years, was an avid golfer, member of the Iron Mountain and Kingsford Chain Gangs, and coached his daughter's soccer team. He was a diehard Green Bay Packers, Boston Celtics, New York Yankees, Notre Dame, and Michigan State fan. He could tell you the teams' statistics, about each player, and the year they were on the team. His favorite quote that he lived by was "Winners never quit, and quitters never win". He lived life to the fullest with no regrets and will always be remembered for his smile, laugh, sense of humor, and the love he had for all those he encountered. Morris is survived by his wife and love of his life for 50 years Linda Erickson (Alton, NH); children Melissa Erickson and significant other Richie Ragonesi (Alton, NH), Shannon Bennett (Norway, MI), Robin (Guy) Livermore (Iron Mountain, MI), predeceased by James Erickson (Appleton, WI); siblings Judy Erickson (Gene) Carollo (Iron Mountain, MI), Bruce (Mary) Erickson (Green Bay, WI), Bonnie Sundquist (Iron Mountain, MI), and Mary (Dan) Deyaert (Iron Mountain, MI); special family friend Dennis Carollo (Iron Mountain, MI); as well as many loving uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. A celebration of his life will take place at a later date
