BOSCAWEN - Muriel Gagnon died suddenly on Oct. 20, 2009, at the Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen, N.H. Muriel was born on March 11, 1932, in Gonic, N.H., to the late Joseph and Fortunate (Boucher) Gagnon. She was a member of Spaulding High School, Class of 1950 and went to work at General Electric in Somersworth and then in Dover, retiring in January 1989. Muriel served on the Rochester School Board and was a Rochester elections official serving in various capacities for 50 years. She resided in Gonic all of her life, where she was a parishioner of St. Leo's Church until moving to Concord, in November 2004. Muriel is survived by a brother, Conrad, (Zeff) Gagnon, his wife, Cecile, of East Rochester, and a sister, Diane Brunelle and her husband, Robert, of Concord. She leaves nieces, Roberta Brunelle of Contoocook, and Patricia Ray of Newfields; nephews, Marc Brunelle of Bow, and Andre Gagnon of Portsmouth, and their families. Muriel also leaves longtime friends, Bob and Jan Labreque of Rochester and special caregiver, Robyn Blanchard of Boscawen. The family would like to thank the staff of the Merrimack County Nursing Home for their care and support during the past year.Family and friends are welcome to gather and visit at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 26, at R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St., Rochester. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the Edgerly chapel.
