Nancy Williams, 65, of Congress St. , passed away on Jan. 15, 2024. She passed in her sleep following a period of failing health at Wentworth Douglass Hospital. Her two sons, Richard Ghent and Dylan Williams, and her dad, Gerard Lambert were by her side.
She was born at Portsmouth Naval Hospital on December 5, 1958 to Loretta Jullian Lambert and her biological father Donald H. Williams. Following a divorce, her mom married Gerard Lambert which led to many transfers and moves. She lived on Portsmouth, NH, until her new dad Pete, was transferred to Gloucester, MA., then back to Portsmouth for a year while dad was in the Arctic. Next came Corpus Christi, TX, on to New London CT. at the Coast Guard Academy, then to New York City where Dad retired.
The family returned to the Portsmouth area in 1974 and eventually settled in Rochester, NH. These moves truly formed Nancy's true independent personality, as Frank Sinatra sang, "She did it her way!". Not always "easy" but "her" way.
