Rochester NH- Norman D. Laurion, 85, of 192 Old Dover Road died suddenly Friday Feb. 3, 2012 at Wentworth Douglass Hospital in Dover after a period of failing health. He was born Sept, 21, 1926 in Rochester NH the son of the late Theodore and Leda P. (Allaire) Laurion. He was a lifelong resident of Rochester and long time communicant of Holy Rosary Church. Norman served in the U.S. Navy, Army and AirForce during three wars, WWII, Korea and Vietnam, retiring in Sept. of 1968. His favorite quote was "nothing too good for the troops" and "why sure". He worked as a master baker/cook for the U.S. Government while in the service. Norman also worked as a cook at UNH and head chef/cook for Frisbie Memorial Hospital and retired in 1991 after 23 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, godfather and uncle. He was a member of the American Legion Post 7 of Rochester NH. He was predeceased by three brothers, Arthur "Tut, Edmond, and Leo K. Laurion and his two sisters, Theresa Laurion and Helen McCabe. Member of his family include his wife of 14 years, Irene Doris (Gagnon) Laurion of Rochester; son, Robert Campeau Laurion and his wife Rita of Rochester NH; grandson, Bradford Campeau Laurion of NY; godson, Thomas J. Laurion of Rollinsford, NH; brother, Dr. Raymond Laurion and his wife Rita of Rochester NH; sister-in-law, Joanne Laurion of Dover, NH and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit Saturday Feb. 11, 2012 from 9-10:30am at the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main Street, Rochester NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, North Main Street, Rochester with Fr. Paul Gouse, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery ,Rochester NH in the spring. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels of Strafford County or Riverside Rest Home, Activity Fund, County Farm Road, Dover, NH 03820 The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Riverside Rest Home Unit 2 and all the staff for the excellence in caring for Norman during the period of his failing health.
