Normand O. Petit, Jr.

Rochester NH- Normand O. Petit, Jr. 61, passed away Monday Dec. 26, 2011 at his home after a sudden illness. He was born in Exeter, NH on August 17, 1950 the son of Normand and Mary (Williams) Petit, Sr. He attended the Advent Christian Church during his school years, played in the high school band and graduated from Exeter High School, Class of 1970. He went on to graduate from Stratham Technical School in Stratham, NH where he acquired a machinist degree. Norm worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard then retired from Verizon as a linesman after 30 years of service. He was a member of IBEW and the bowling Club in Exeter, NH. Norm enjoyed woodworking and was the owner and operator with his wife of The Carriage Shed in Rochester NH. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Members of his family include his wife of 14 years Toni (Sessler) Petit, Rochester; his parents of Exeter, NH; sons, Erick Petit and wife Trish of Portsmouth; their children Hannah and Samantha ; Thomas Petit and his children, John, Ashley, Shayna Rose of Exeter; stepdaughters, Amy and husband John Srnec and their child Alana; Sarah and husband Greg Hubbard and her children, Daeja, Ocean, Skyla and London of Rochester NH; his sister, Beth and husband Jeff Eaton of Dover, NH , mother-in-law, Ruth Sessler of Rochester NH; brother-in-laws, Larry Sessler JR., Rick and Kathy Sessler of Strafford; Mark and Robin Sessler of Lebanon, ME and several aunts, uncles, cousins and nephew, Jacob Eaton of Portsmouth, NH. Family and friends may visit Friday 3-7PM at the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main Street, Rochester NH. The funeral service will be Saturday Dec.31, 2011 at 11AM in the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Mike Pike officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester Cemetery in Rochester in the spring.
