HAVERHILL, Mass. - Patricia Lee Jenkins, 63, of 26 11th Ave., Haverhill, Mass., died Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at Merrimack Valley Hospital after a period of failing health.She was born July 28, 1946, in Rochester, N.H., the daughter of Elizabeth (Brown) Wells and the late Chester Wells. Patricia was a graduate of Spaulding High School, Class of 1965 and had worked in local shoe factories. She also worked for Goodwill Industries. She was a longtime member of the First Crown Point Baptist Church of Strafford and served as past president of the Wilbur M. Comeau Unit 4 American Legion in Haverhill, Mass. She was a former member of the Auxiliary to the Sons of Union Veterans of Civil War and the 4- H Club. Her hobbies included birdwatching, floral arranging, trains and enjoying the Christmas holidays.Members of her family include her husband of 27 years, Douglas E. Jenkins; daughter, Amanda Wells, both of Haverhill; her mother of Barrington, N.H.; sisters, Joyce Jacques and Beverly Danderant, both of Rochester, Madeline Roberts of Maine, Judith Wells of Barrington, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Donald and Oscar Wells.The funeral service will be Friday, Nov. 6, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., Rochester, with the Rev. George Moore, officiating, Friends and family may visit one hour before the service from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
