Patricia Ann McLaren, 81 of Rochester, NH died December 9, 2021, after a long period of failing health. She was born in Somerville Massachusetts to her predeceased parents John and Agnes Collins. The eldest of nine, Patty Ann, as she was known to her siblings, was predeceased by her sister Phyllis Fagan, and brothers David Collins, Paul Collins, John (Jack) Collins, and Michael Collins. She leaves behind two sisters, Marsha Anastas and Mary Ellen McMahon, and brother Kevin Collins. Patricia was employed by the city of Rochester where she was proud of her work on the revitalization of the Rochester Opera House during its early phase and tending to the many flower gardens around the city with fellow employees. After retirement she spent her time babysitting her grandchildren and having backyard birthday parties with family and any of the many neighborhood children. She loved to hand out freeze pops to the kids on hot days. She had a huge heart and was always ready to help those in need in any way she could. Patricia was predeceased by her eldest son Donald McLaren and is survived by sons John McLaren and his wife Donna of Rochester, Patrick McLaren and his partner Debbie Mallock of Wakefield, Paul McLaren of Rochester, Joseph McLaren of Rochester and daughters Joan McLaren of Beverly Massachusetts and Lisa and William Hobbs of Farmington NH. She also leaves behind many loved grandchildren and step grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. All who loved her wish to thank the staff at Riverside Rest Home for their unyielding and kind support to her and her family during a most difficult time. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday Dec. 16, 2021, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 189 North Main Street, Rochester NH.
