Paul Alan Bushway

January 4, 1973 — October 28, 2022

Paul Alan Bushway, age 49, passed away with family by his side, after a brief illness, on October 28, 2022.  Paul was born to Danny Paul Bushway and Lynne Estabrook Bushway, in Rochester, NH, on January 4th, 1973. Paul was raised in Rochester, NH and was a graduate of Spaulding High School in 1991.  While in High School, Paul excelled in both baseball and football. From there he went to Presbyterian College in South Carolina on a baseball scholarship until 1995.  After college he returned to the Seacoast area and worked various jobs. In his most recent years, he resided and worked in New Hampshire, Texas and Florida. Throughout his years, Paul deeply touched the lives of so many people and truly cherished all of his friendships he made along the way.  Paul would have given the shirt off his back for anyone. He was full of life, full of love and full of laughter. He always had a smile on his face, his laugh was contagious and could be heard across the room. He was always the life of the party!  He was extremely competitive when it came to sports and would never back down from an opportunity to win any challenge or bet. Growing up, Paul, his brother Jason, and his father's nightly battles would include ping pong, wrestling, basketball and golf, and they would fight until the end - no matter what the outcome.   One of his favorite past times was playing in the annual Father's Day golf tournament with his brother, Uncle Mike Estabrook and Uncle Stephen Estabrook (Paul would unfortunately often win the Horses Ass Trophy as a loser of this coveted event). Paul loved to travel, and recently bought a Harley, which was a life-long dream of his to own a bike. He belonged to a sober biker's club in Florida and would travel daily, weekly, or sometimes the group would pick a destination and ride together as a club.  He loved his time with this group of people and considered them part of his extended family. And for that, we will be eternally grateful. Paul adored his niece Ava Bushway and nephew Bryce Bushway as if they were his own children.  He would brag about their accomplishments, attend every sporting event possible, constantly spoil them and always gave them life-long advice. He was beyond proud of them; they were his world.  Paul was truly grateful to leave the dog he loved so much, Dexter, to his niece and nephew, to raise and to love the way he too loved and cared for him. Paul was predeceased by his father, Danny Paul Bushway, his grandfather Roy E. Estabrook, his grandmother, Germaine Ricker and grandfather Earl Carpenter, uncle Pedro Quintanilla, uncle Chris Carpenter and aunt Paula Carpenter.  He is survived by his mother, Lynne (Estabrook) Bushway and partner Lawrence Gray, his brother Jason Bushway and wife Shelley (Ferland) Bushway, nephew Bryce Bushway and niece Ava Bushway and grandmother Isla Estabrook.  He is also survived by many loved aunts and uncles:  Roy Estabrook and wife Sharon, Michael Estabrook and wife Theresa, Karen Estabrook and partner Kathy, Susan Boisvert and husband Mike, Steve Estabrook and wife Lisa, Kathy Novak, Kathy Condon and husband Frank, David Bushway and wife Christine, Linda Quintanilla, Deborah Carpenter, Michael Carpenter and wife Sue, Ricky Carpenter, Stephen Ricker and wife Cathy, and many cousins. There is comfort in knowing Paul has reunited with his father in another life. Give him a big hug for us Paully! Visiting hours will be held Wednesday November 9th from 4pm - 7pm at R.M. Edgerly & Son funeral home in Rochester, NH followed by a burial at 11am on Thursday, November 10th at Pine Grove Cemetery in Farmington, NH.  A Celebration of Life will follow at the Rochester Country Club from 12pm - 4pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider donating to the Jimmy Fund at www.jimmyfund.org  or Southeastern New Hampshire Services at www.senhs.org.
