Paul A. Fortier, 77, passed away Friday December 31, 2010 at Wentworth Douglass Hospital with his family at his side after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Paul was born September 4, 1933 in Somersworth, NH, the son of the late Jean-Baptiste Fortier and Alphonsine LeBlond Fortier. Paul served in the U.S. Navy from August 1951 to June 1954. Paul worked for Moore Business Forms in Dover, NH for 36 years. Upon his retirement, he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. He especially loved spending time at the family apple orchard. Paul is survived by his wife, Madeleine Morin Fortier and his three daughters Elaine Fortier of Somersworth, Melanie Cantin and husband Roger of Berwick, ME, and Aimee Fortier and fiancé Conrod Nicely of Berwick, ME; his four grandsons Justin Cantin and wife Elizabeth of Berwick ME, Jared Cantin and wife Leigh of Berwick, ME, Joshua Cantin and Cassy Cox of Somersworth, and CJ Nicely; one granddaughter Emily Nicely; one great-grandson Bryce Cantin; two great-granddaughters Kinsley Cantin and Brystol Cantin; one special brother Robert Fortier and wife Delina of Berwick, ME and several nieces and nephews. Paul was pre-deceased by his parents and four brothers and his only son, Paul J. Fortier. There will be no visiting hours. Services and burial will be held in the spring at Mt. Calvery Cemetery in Somersworth. Should friends desire memorial donations in Paul's name, they may be made to the Seacoast Cancer Center at Wentworth Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH.
