East Rochester - Paul D, Steer, Jr. 75, passed away Friday July 11, 2014 following a brief illness. Born September 3, 1938 in Danbury, Ct he was the son of the late Paul D. and Marie (Carvell) Steer, Sr. Mr. Steer served in the USMC. He later worked as a truck driver, after which he worked as a Crane Mechanic at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. He was a member of the NRA, Gun Owners of New Hampshire, the DAV and VFW. He was a man with a big heart and he was always willing to help. His family was his priority and his grandsons were his world. Paul would do anything for anyone and was always the first one there when you needed help. He always knew someone, who knew someone, who could help out or get you what you needed. He never had a mean word to say about anyone and he always wanted people to be happy, which he made sure of by always cracking jokes and making people laugh. Paul had an amazing ability to make everyone he knew feel special and loved. Members of his family include his wife of 48 years Linda L. Steer of East Rochester, NH; his son Paul J. Steer of Milton Mills, NH; his daughter-in-law Maureen Steer of Milton, NH; two grandchildren Stephen and Matthew Steer, two brothers David Steer of Manchester, NH; and Edward Markland. He was predeceased by his brother Henford "Chip" Steer. Family and friends may visit Thursday July 17, from 4-6PM at the R.M. Edgerly and Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St. Rochester, NH. A funeral service will be held at 6PM in the chapel, followed by a brief gathering. Burial will take place in the Rochester Cemetery at a later date.
