Lebanon, ME- Paula Nancy (Fryou) Wolfinger passed from this life on Saturday, May 10, 2025 surrounded by family members, at Wentworth Douglass Hospital in Dover NH. She was 70 years old. Born on June 28, 1954 in Lynn Massachusetts to Lee Anthony and Irene (Jenkins) Fryou, Paula was one of ten children. Paula attended Classical High School in Lynn and then furthered her education with a degree from North Shore Community College. Paula moved to New Hampshire, where she gained employment with Tillotson Healthcare of Rochester, as a Secretary, but quickly advanced her position to Human Resource Director. Many of Paula’s lifelong friends were among the employees at Tillotson. She enjoyed an early retirement at age 52 after working for a short time at Spaulding Composites in Rochester. Paula met Brian and the two began blending their lives and families, marrying in May of 1996, for a total of 31 years together. Paula’s favorite hobbies included crocheting afghans, working on those beautiful blankets and passing her craft along to her niece, Tina DePrizito. Paula enjoyed studying Social Science. She was very proud of her extensive library and her collection of books by Author, Ann Rule. Paula was a devoted Red Sox fan. She could often be found on the couch snuggled up next to her cat, Mr Cane. She enjoyed spending weekends with her sister in law Audrey Fryou and her great granddaughter A’niya. Paula’s passing is mourned by her husband, Brian Wolfinger of Lebanon ME, her two sons, Robert Ridings and John Benham III both of Dover NH, her step-son Stephen Wolfinger of Manchester NH, and her granddaughter, Kiana Ridings of Somersworth NH. Her presence will be greatly missed by her inlaws, Herbert and Viola Wolfinger of Lebanon and Cynthia Bourgeois of Eastport ME. She is survived by 3 sisters, Dale Preble (Alan) of Cocoa, FL; Crystal Knight (Arthur) of Milton NH; Susan Fryou (Laurel) of Malden MA and 1 brother, Richard Fryou (Joyce) of Gonic NH, and also by her brother in law and sister in law, Audrey Fryou of Somersworth NH and Frank DePrizito of Rochester NH Paula also leaves 24 nieces and nephews as well as many great nieces and nephews. Predeceasing Paula are both of her Parents; her sisters Lisa Fryou and Veronica DePrizito; and her brothers Michael Fryou, Lee Anthony Fryou Jr and Edward Fryou. The Wolfinger Family invite all of Paula’s friends and family to attend a Celebration of Life at the family home, 91 New Bridge Road in Lebanon ME on Saturday, June 28th starting at 2:00 pm, which will be catered by our friends at Smokin’Lamps BBQ of Lebanon. Brian and all of Paula’s family would like to acknowledge the professionalism and care extended by the Lebanon Fire and EMS Department, and share a word of thanks for all of the doctors and nurses on the 3rd floor, 3 North and CCU at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital for their kindness, personal attention and exceptional medical care during Paula’s stay.
