Peter Baussmann ROCHESTER - Peter Anthony Baussmann Jr, 67, of Rochester, NH, died early Thursday morning, Oct. 28, 2010, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine of complications due to a fall. He was born on Nov. 14, 1942 in Patchogue, NY, the son of Peter Baussmann Sr and Lillian Sweetman. Upon graduating Patchogue High School, Peter proudly served in The United States Air Force for four years. Stationed at Pease Air force Base in Portsmouth, NH, his tenure also brought him to Goose Bay, Labrador and Germany. A raconteur, full of wit and charm, Peter will be remembered most by those who knew him as the "life of the party." His generosity preceded him and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He loved music, dancing, Casper the dog, retirement, yard sales on the weekend and cruising in "the Miata." For more than 35 years he worked at Goss International in Dover, NH, building printing presses that would be used to print magazines and news papers including the Foster's Daily Democrat. He was also a member of several social clubs including The Elks (Lodge B.P.O.E #1393), The American Legion (Post #7) and Club Victoire. Peter is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Lorraine R. Baussmann; three siblings, Sally Newham and her husband Thomas, Karen DeVito and her husband Jimmy, Fred Baussmann and his wife Rosemarie; his four children, Peter A Baussmann III and wife Michelle, Michael J Baussmann and his wife Debbie, James R Baussmann and his fiancé Noraphorn, Mistina E Hibbard and her husband Brock; two step children, James C Duford and his wife Heidi, Angela A Roukie and her husband David. Peter also enjoyed the pleasure of having spent time with his 10 grand children, Tori, Jonathan, Krista, Kaitlyn, Kyle, Cade, Cort, Noah, Nakia, Abram and one great grandchild, Caleb. In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for donations in his memory to Gerry's Food Pantry (603-330-3468) via the SHARE Fund at SHARE Fund, Inc, 189 N. Main Street, Rochester, NH, 03867. Calling hours will be held Monday, November 1 from 10-12pm and 2-4pm with funeral services to be held at 4pm in the chapel of R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main St Rochester NH.
