Rochester – Philip L. Belliveau, 92, passed away Wednesday March 12, 2025, at The Haven at Lee following a period of failing health.
Born May 8, 1932, in Amesbury, MA, he was the son of the late James Belliveau and Marie (Jutras) Dufresne.
Philip worked as a manufacturing engineer for Davidson Rubber, later known as Textron. In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf and woodworking. He was an antique car enthusiast and was a member of MOAL (Maine Obsolete Auto League). He also enjoyed being a snowbird for a period of his life traveling from New Hampshire to Florida. Philip served in the US Army. He was a chef during the Korean War and held in high regard by his fellow service men for his culinary expertise. His love of cooking carried throughout his life and many of his dishes carried his distinct mark. His home was often filled with the smell of baked beans and pots of hot fish chowder.
Members of his family include his children Paul Belliveau and wife Lydia of Myrtle Beach, SC; Diane Crosser of Venice, FL; Guy Belliveau of Dover, NH; Alan Belliveau and wife Laurie of Sanbornville, NH; and two stepchildren James Thibodeau and wife Tanya of Franklin, NH; and Denise Wider and husband Mark of Londonderry, NH; his grandchildren Alex, Sydney, and Hailey and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife Estelle (Marcotte) Belliveau in 1994, and his second wife Claire (Bolduc) Belliveau in 2025, and his brother Rene Belliveau.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
