Dover, NH- Phyllis M. Amero, 91, died Wednesday May 7, 2014 at the Wentworth Home in Dover, NH where she had resided for the past 11 years. She was born in Limerick, ME on March 30, 1923, the daughter of the late Harold and Annie (Carroll) Whitten. She has lived in Rochester, NH since 1942 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She worked at Frisbie Memorial Hospital for 40 years, retired in 1985. She was a past member for 33 years of the James Farrington Chapter #7 of the Order of Eastern Star. After campaigning for Ronald Reagan, she and her husband were invited and attended his 1981 Inaugural Ball. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, John V. Amero , four sisters, Lauretta Rankin, Dorothy Roberts, Flora Rondeau, and Gracie Letourneau; one brother, Herman Whitten. She is survived by one brother, Edward Whitten and his wife Beverly of Rochester and many nieces and nephews.
