Rochester, NH- Phyllis A. Kustra, 69, of 24 King Street died Friday April 21, 2017 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct. 22, 1947 in Portsmouth, NH the daughter of the late Paul and Grace (Bowman) Desjardins. She was a graduate of Portsmouth High School, Class of 1965 and worked as a hairdresser. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from College for Life Long Learning. Phyllis volunteered at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in the Old Prospect Unit and worked at the Homemakers of Strafford County. Phyllis, referred to many as "Ma" had a heart of gold, was strong, kind and courageous. She loved the ocean, sewing, knitting and cooking. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her precious children and grandchildren. Members of her family include her children, Kimberly Baez, Karen (Michael) Lacerte, Katie Trepanier, Michael Kustra; 6 grandchildren; siblings, Jimmy, Mary Ann and Jan; one niece and two nephews. She was predeceased by a son Kenneth P. Kustra. Family and friends may visit Thursday 5-7PM at the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main Street, Rochester, NH with a service to follow at 7pm in the chapel of the funeral home.
