Rochester, NH- Rachel D. Gagnon, 91, formerly of 3 Embassy Ave, Manchester and 192 Old Dover Road Rochester died Monday Sept. 28, 2015 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital after a period of failing health. She was born Aug. 21, 1924 the daughter of the late Napoleon and Amelia (Grimard) Guimont. She has resided in this area since 1997 previously living in Hooksett. Rachel attended St. Georges Grammar and High School and graduated in 1942. She attended Mount St. Mary College in Hooksett for two years then worked as a secretary for Elliot Hospital. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Rochester. Rachel was a loving, giving and compassionate mother. The widow of Albert J. Gagnon, she is survived by her daughter, Irene Laurion of Rochester. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Norman Laurion in 2012, brother, Robert A. Guimont and sister Gertrude Laurion. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday Oct. 1, 2015 at 10:30AM at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 189 North Main Street, Rochester with Fr. Paul Gousse as celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Brock Street, Rochester, NH. The family of Rachel D. Gagnons family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude for the loving care given to her by the staff and LNA's at Riverside Rest Home, where she called home for 13 years.
