Strafford, NH. Radford L. Messenger 89 of 444 First Crown Point Road died at Frisbee Memorial Hospital on Thursday June 21, 2018. Born July 11, 1929 in Argyle Sound Nova Scotia. He was the son of Herbert Lee Messenger and Edith (Murphy) Messenger. He attended schools in Nova Scotia and Malden Mass. Then later moved to Strafford. He started Radford Messenger Excavating in 1958. He was Road Agent of the town of Strafford on and off for many years. He was a member of the Crown Point Church. Members of his family include his wife of 58 years Irma (Berry) Messenger. His two sons Mark Messenger and wife Trisha, Greg Messenger and wife Michelle and three grandchildren Elayna, Katherine and Matthew Messenger. He is also survived by sisters Bertha Huckins and husband Lester, Dorothy Longo and brother Herbert Messenger, brother-in-law Errol Clark. He had many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Myra Hodges and Erma Clark. He enjoyed spending time with his family. His grand children were his greatest pleasure. He enjoyed fishing in his pond. He took great pride in the things he made in his workshop for family and friends. He enjoyed farming and driving his many tractors around the property. He loved to go to his grandchildren's sporting events. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Crown Point Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held Tuesday June 26 at 10am in the chapel of the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main St, Rochester NH 03867.
