Raymond E Ellis

Raymond "Ray" Edward Ellis, 88, of Rochester, NH, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at home.  Born in Laconia NH to Harold R. Ellis and Martha M. "June" Ellis, he spent most of his final days in Strafford County, NH.   Raymond is preceded by his wife and high school sweetheart Phyllis M. (Colbroth) Ellis, both of whom graduated from Spaulding High School.    Raymond served 2 years in the U.S. Navy and also served as a member of the NH National Guard. Raymond later became an officer within the Rochester Police Department.  Upon leaving the police force, Ray joined Prudential Insurance Company where he became a successful service representative.  Ray enjoyed spending time with his family, caring for his birds and watching the NE Patriots and Boston Red Sox.   Raymond leaves behind his 6 children; Peter Ellis of Clayton NC, Diana Toscano of Hampton, NH, Steven Ellis of Manchester, NH, Barbara Theodore of Alamagordo, NM, Chery Tufanio of South Riding, VA and Timothy Ellis of Dover, NH. Raymond is also survived by his younger brother and friend Norman D. Ellis of Rochester NH; as well his many Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, nieces, nephews.   The family will receive friends from 8:30-9:30 AM at Edgerly Funeral Home, 86 South Main Street, Rochester on Friday May 19, 2017 with the service to follow at 9:30AM followed by his burial at the Rochester Cemetery on Franklin Street in Rochester.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Raymond's name may be made to The American Diabetes Association.   Those wishing to sign Raymond's guestbook may do so at www.edgerlyfh.com
