Raymond
Lambert Jr
Nov 25, 1946 — Oct 13, 2026
Rochester NH
Raymond Lambert Jr., 79 years old from Rochester, NH was born on November 25, 1946, in Bellows Falls, VT. He passed away on October 13, 2026, after a battle with Alzheimer’s. He was the son of the late Raymond Lambert, Sr. and Elaine (Dodge) Lambert.
Ray grew up in Claremont, NH graduating from Stevens High School in 1964. He then attended the University of New Hampshire where he met his wife, Karen.
Ray dedicated his career to teaching high school mathematics in the Somersworth and Farmington school systems, where he was known for his strict but fair approach in the classroom. He believed in holding his students to high standards while treating them with fairness and respect. Those who knew him as a teacher may also remember his love of math jokes, which added a bit of humor to his lessons and reflected his personality. Ray left his mark on the many students he taught, sharing not only his knowledge of mathematics but also the importance of hard work, discipline, and accountability.
Tennis was Ray’s greatest passion. He spent many years playing and coaching, both at the high school level and serving as the long-term tennis director at The Works in Somersworth, NH. He loved sharing his knowledge of the game and helping others develop a love for tennis. One of his favorite people to share the court with was his daughter, Kristin. For Ray, tennis was more than just a sport; it was a source of friendships and competition.
In addition to tennis, Ray enjoyed traveling to Disney World with his family, where he affectionately got the nickname “Grampy Moneybags” from his granddaughter, Abigail. He also spent time courtside at Spaulding High School and AAU basketball games watching his son, Mike.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Karen Carlson Lambert of Rochester, NH; his daughter, Kristin Lambert of Rochester, NH and granddaughter Abigail Tapley, of Orlando, FL; his son, Michael Lambert, daughter-in-law, Kaitlin Lambert and three grandchildren, Jamie, Sabrina, and Savannah of Marietta, GA.
A celebration of life will be held in the coming weeks. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Ray are welcome to make a donation in his memory to The Alzheimer's Association at https://Alzheimer's Association /.
