Wells, Maine: Rebecca "Becky" Dupuis Luke passed awayTuesday, October 31, 2023 at the age of 56.Born on June 28, 1967 to Pauline Heon-Shea and Ronald Dupuis, she was the second born of three daughters. Growing up inSomersworth in an idyllic neighborhood as part of the "Varney St.Gang", childhood days were spent playing marbles, kickball(Scrub), building cabins in the Chasse's woods, riding bikes, playing hide-n-seek and laying on the bank of her front yard withall the girls in the neighborhood looking up at the evening starsand watching for low flying bats. Of course, there was also theoccasional argument followed by making up. Most memorablewere the Varney St. parades, trick-or-treating, ice skating onLion's Pond and Christmas caroling with all the gang. Just one ofmany, many cousins, there was always extended family for her toplay with, look up to, and just maybe get into a bit of mischief. Thefriends Becky had from these younger years, both from theneighborhood and from school, were lifelong friends to the endand were a source of joy, adventure and comfort. A clarinet playerand graduate of Somersworth High School Class of '85, she wasone of the first girls to ever enroll in auto shop class at SHS. Sheworked for a time as a baker at Shaws, as well as in the businessoffice at Bradlees, where she met her husband Denny. Herfavorite job was working as a cook for Head Start and interactingwith the children there.Becky had a heart filled with so much love. She loved the NewEngland falls with all the annual delights of autumn foliage, applepicking, and Halloween. She loved the ocean, spending time atMaranacook Lake with her family each summer, camping, shopping, country music and Cher. She had a tender spot in herheart for animals as well, evident by the many dogs, cats andother fortunate animals to dwell in the Luke household throughthe years. She was "that" sports mom who cheered the loudestfrom the sidelines at soccer games, baseball games, footballgames and track meets. As a mom of a Girl Scout, she was also"that" mom who helped her daughter reach cookie sale goals, even if it meant cupboards filled with Thin Mints and Shortbreads(much to Denny's delight!). But most of all, she loved her kids, nieces and nephews and spending time with her family. Herinfamous Becky hugs and contagious smile will never beforgotten.Becky's memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friendswho love her.
