Lebanon, Maine- Rene Raymond Grenier, 87, of Lower Guinea Road died Thursday Sept. 20, 2018 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.Born Dec. 18, 1930 in Rochester, NH he was the son of the late Arthur and Mary (Dubois) Grenier. Rene has resided in Lebanon since 2002 after moving from Rochester. He was a bricklayer and mason and was a member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsman, Local No. 3. Rene was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He enjoyed the outdoors; camping, hunting, fishing, and skiing. He and his wife had a passion for his beagles and was a member of the Salmon Falls River Beagle Club.The widower of Phyllis (Hartford) Grenier who passed away Feb. 25, 2018, he is survived by sons, Rene Jr. and wife Janice, Strafford, NH, Michael Grenier and wife Kim, Wakefield, NH; stepdaughters, Diana Mocek and husband Bruce, Rochester, NH, Lisa Roberts and husband Brian, Lebanon, ME.; 7 grandchildren, Bret, Kevin, , Andrew and Hannah Grenier, Michael Vages, Jennifer Wilson, Kyle Hamel; 3 great grandchildren; brother, Richard Grenier; sisters, Claire Daigle, Cecile Germon; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Norman and Robert Grenier.Family and friends may visit Wednesday Sept. 26, 2018 from 4-7 PM at the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main Street, Rochester, NH.Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Eliot, ME at a later date.In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Cocheco Valley Humane Society, County Farm Road, Dover, NH 03820.
