Richard Austin

Richard (Rick) Austin, beloved husband of Sandra for Thirty-Four Years passed away on January 11, 2024, at Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover after a brief illness following a fall.Rick was the third child born to John and Margaret (Peg) Austin, April 5, 1955. Rick was born in Winchester, Massachusetts and grew up in Reading, as the youngest sibling with his oldest sister Gail (Joe Foley) Schmader and older brother Jack (Judy) Austin. As a family they enjoyed summer fun on the Cape with their large extended family.Since retiring from Portsmouth Naval Yard in 2019 as a top-notch machinist/supervisor Rick has been enjoying life camping with his wife and friends, kayaking with his buddies watching and attending NASCAR events and helping his friends and neighbors with his skills as an accomplished hobby mechanic.Rick was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
