Richard Booth

Rochester, NH - Richard booth, 70, passed away at the Rochester Manor on Sunday August 13, 2017 from complications of a traumatic brain injury. He was born in Clinton, MA on February 25, 1947 the son of Robert W. & Mary (Maskowsky) Booth. Richard was given various names- "Fester" by his son in law Schoon; "Governor" by his friends in St. Martens; "Dick" by close friends & coworkers; and "Boss Man" by some of the CNA's at the Manor. Richard graduated from Hudson High School, Class of 1965 & served in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1972. He loved bowling at Bowlaway Lanes, golfing at Farmington Country Club, and playing darts, pool, horseshoes, or cards with many family and friends. His passion was playing the lottery, hoping for "The Big One," and traveling to St. Martens, Aruba, Florida, Georgia and going to York Beach. He worked for Laars Heating in Rochester until retiring in May 2016. He worked for Data General in Westboro, MA and Portsmouth, NH and Cabletron in Rochester, NH. He's survived by his wife of 48 years, Dolores (Grillo) Booth; his daughter Angela (Booth) Schoonmaker, her husband Christian, and their children Jocelyn Schoonmaker (all of Rochester) and Connor and his wife Meagen Schoonmaker and soon to be great-granddaughter, Nevaeh, of North Carolina; his daughter Corrine (Booth) Briggs and her son Dalton Briggs of Rochester. Richard was predeceased by his parents Robert W. and Mary Booth of Rochester, NH and his brother Robert A. Booth of Hudson, MA. Grandpa/Bumpa was so proud of his two grandsons for following his path in the military defending our country. Richard's also survived by his brothers-and-sisters-in-law William & Katherine Fields of Maynard, MA and Thomas & Alice Grillo of Southport, NC; his best friend since birth Calvin Charles of Stow, MA; nieces and nephews Paula, David, and Robin Booth of Worcester, MA; Matthew Fields and his family of Leominster, MA; Michael Fields of Maynard, MA; Jared Grillo of Missiouri; Justin Grillo and his family of Missouri and many cousins. The family would like to thank the Rochester Manor for bringing their family "home" to Rochester and for the love and care they showed to Richard. Arrangements are entrusted to the R.M. Edgerly Funeral Home of Rochester, NH. A Celebration of Life, with calling hours from 1-2:30PM and a ceremony after, will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at the American Legion on 94 Eastern Avenue in Rochester, NH.
