LEBANON, Maine - Richard G. Cox, 78, of 328 Clarkes Settlement Road, died Friday, July 24, 2009, at his home after a long illness.Born April 16, 1931, in Lebanon, Maine, he was the son of the late Leroy and Lillian (Keefe) Cox.Richard proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years as an aircraft and engine mechanic, staff sergeant and Korean War veteran. In 1986, he retired from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as a foreman in Shop 328. He was a licensed ham radio operator, master clock and watch repairman. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, having won many trophies in the tournaments he played. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting.
