Richard Alan Haley

Rochester- Richard Alan Haley, 59, of 6 Elsie Lane died Sunday, February 20, 2011 at his home after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born March 8, 1951 in Wolfeboro, NH, he was the son of the late Myron and Lucile (Herbert) Haley. Richard proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Detroit. He was an avid Harley Davidson Rider. He was always making one more upgrade to his bike and never missed attending or watching a NASCAR race. He worked as a rigger at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. He loved children and dogs and always had a dog bone in his pocket just in case. Richard was always there when a friend or family member needed something. He was a loyal and faithful friend, coworker, brother, son and husband. Enjoyed hunting with his brother Jimmy and relaxing in his sister's pool, he never missed an opportunity to spend time with his family. Members of his family include his wife Elizabeth (Chateauneuf) Haley, his brother; James and wife, Cindy Reid. Later in life Richard was welcomed as a member of the Robidas Family by his parents George and Jeanne Robidas , sister Claire and husband John Robidas-Adams, sister Pat &husband Kevin Breton, sister Diane and husband Danny Thompson, brother Paul & wife Linda Robidas) Through marriage he joined the Chateauneuf family, including Diana, Nick Nicolas & Zoey Johnson and Jessica and James Munn. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and an endless list of long time co workers and friends including Edward Hardy and Billy Creighton. Main Street, Rochester, NH 03867 A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 11 AM in the chapel of the R. M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main Street, Rochester, NH 03867 A burial will follow the service at 1:30 PM in the New Hampshire Veterans cemetery, Boscawen, NH Family flowers only please.
