Richard C
Jackson
d. Oct 8, 2026
Rochester, NH
Richard Clemence Jackson (1928-2026).
Richard C. Jackson (Dick) passed away peacefully October 8, 2026 at the age of 98 after a long
and full life. Raised in Somersworth NH he was the son of Henry Olin Jackson and Gertrude
Jackson. An engineering degree graduate of Tufts University, Dick spent his career as Owner
and President of The Great Falls Bleachery. While he excelled as a business leader his passion in
life was aviation. At 14 years of age he traveled to Concord NH to take flying lessons and
continued to fly into his early eighties.
Over his lifetime he mastered the art of restoring antique aircraft. Aviation experts and
enthusiasts came from across the country to learn from Dick and work beside him in the
hangers he built attached to the home he and his wife, Patsy resided in for more than 48 years.
Dick fully restored from scratch seven historic planes and with friends refurbished many more.
Many of his planes are featured in museums across the United Sates.
An avid sailor, Dick loved being on the ocean and the family time spent in their summer home
in South Bristol Maine.
Dick was predeceased in life by his wife of 70 years, Patricia Horne Jackson and his daughter
Lynne Jackson-Debruin and his brother, Robert Jackson. He is survived by his son Alan (Hank)
Jackson and wife Mary Ellen, grandsons Ian Jackson and wife Jennifer and Tyler Jackson and his
wife Rebekah and Adam DeBruin and wife Sarah and five great grandchildren; Chloe, Arianna,
Miakoda, Piper and Olin.
A celebration of life and reception will be held at a date to be determined for family and
friends.
