Richard L. Howard

Farmington NH: Richard L. Howard, 86, of Ten Rod Rd died Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital after a period of failing health. Born August 17, 1936, in Rochester, NH to Alfred and Cecile (Maxfield) Howard. Richard has lived in Farmington most of his life. He served in the NH Army National Guard from 1954-1960. He worked as a heavy equipment operator at Brox Industries until his retirement. In his spare time, Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR racing, was an avid New England sports fan, and proficient at gardening. Members of his family include his daughters: Barbara Varney of Gonic, Cathy Howard of Barrington, Deborah Howard of Rochester, Ellen Stahl of Milton, and Tammy Ellis of Farmington. His sisters: Mary Wigmore of Cohasset, MA, and Elaine Sinclair of S. Lebanon, ME. He has 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 3 great great-grandchildren. He leaves behind his very close friends Larry Benoit, Dan Carignan, Becky Hardy and numerous nieces and nephews. Richard was predeceased by his wife Cecile Howard and 3 brothers: Alfred, Paul, and Michael Howard. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 18th, 2023, at 1:00 PM at the Holy Rosary Cemetery.
